Esthetic/Cosmetic Dentistry

What is Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry is aimed at creating a positive change to your teeth and to your smile. Thanks to advancements in dental care, there are many treatment options available to you to help create a beautiful smile. Smile enhancement can have dramatic results on your overall appearance; even the smallest step can boost your confidence, self-esteem, and make you want to smile more.

Dr Seligman is a member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. It is a resource for both doctors and patients whose primary goal is to maintain the health, function, and appearance of one’s teeth for their lifetime. Cosmetic or esthetic dentistry complements the overall general and oral health of the patient.

Cosmetic Procedures:

Teeth Whitening: Seligman Dental Designs provides in office, custom take-home tray and pre-filled, disposable trays all of which can safely brighten stained, discolored or dull teeth. We use the Venus White teeth whitening system. When you have a brighter smile, you tend to smile more and have more confidence.

Direct Bonding: As an option for chipped or cracked teeth, bonding utilizes a natural appearing, tooth color composite that is applied to the surface of the tooth. It is shaped to match the tooth, hardened and then polished to appear like the original tooth. It is also used as the alternative to silver amalgam restorations in the back teeth which can be unsightly.

Implants: Can be used as a natural appearing replacement for a missing tooth or multiple teeth. The implant is placed in the jaw to anchor life-like restorations that look natural and function as your natural tooth would.

Veneers: These are ultra thin, custom-made, porcelain veneers that are bonded directly to the tooth surface. These restorations are used to cover discolored teeth, improve the shape and alignment of you teeth or restore broken down or worn teeth. The result is a long lasting, stable and natural appearing smile.

All ceramic crowns: Many people are concerned about showing that black margin at the edge of their crowns. By placing an all porcelain crown, that does not have a metal core, we can eliminate those unsightly dark lines at the gum.

Botox and Dermal Fillers:  Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is used esthetically to decrease the appearance of aging by reducing muscle movement.  If you just want to smooth out a few fine lines or fill in deep set wrinkles, dermal fillers can be used to achieve a more relaxed and smooth facial appearance while still having the freedom of expression.  Both of these procedures can compliment esthetic dentistry, and can be performed in our office by Dr Wysocki.
